You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.
— C.S. Lewis
I am so glad you took the time to learn more about how therapy can help you make the changes you wish to see. Life is tough and complicated, however I strongly believe in the human capacity to be resilient. Taking the step to ask for support and finding a place where you can be yourself without judgment is something that we all deserve. I believe all individuals deserve respect and dignity, in a setting where their cultural values and individual needs are considered.
As a therapist, I’m approachable, personable, genuine and laid-back. I use an integrative approach because I believe that different things work for different people. With a trauma-focused background, my approach is strength-based coupled with honest, mindful feedback with compassion and humor. I use treatment modalities such as psychodynamic theory, which supports my belief that there are feelings that come from our past experiences that can impact our actions, sometimes causing emotional and behavioral difficulties which are not always within our direct awareness. Gaining insight into how our past experiences impact our current thoughts, feelings and behaviors can be the first step towards healing and growing. Most importantly, I am here to listen and learn more about where you are on your journey and how we can work together to get you to where you’d like to be. I truly enjoy working with people and look forward to speaking with you soon.
